Summer Revision Smackdown

Holly and Jolie are running this whip-cracking revision smackdown! If you want to get a lot of revision or writing done this fine summer, join in by commenting over there!

Summer is the perfect time to get things in action!
My goals:

-Get first book (that's CLAN) revision done first part of June.

-Get at least 80 pages of second book done by end of June. (First draft phase.) It'll be good for me to move on.

I'm also aiming to get 12 illustrations done, but it's not writing so I didn't include it in the smackdown.

Yeeha! Get your gatorade out and get ready to run! (Hopefully towards a goal that is--not running away!)

Doodle for "Mail Me Art"

I learned about "Mail Me Art" and decided to give it a whirl! You just paint on an envelope and send it! Easy as that!

I doodled in the middle of my living room while my cat tried to steal the colorful pens from me.

Hmm...random! What's up with the picture? Well, I have this idea that lady muse sleeps in the ocean where the giant squids are. Everyone has their idea about muse and that's my take on it. She hides in the deepest place possible.

Life Drawing -- May

Last night, I went life drawing at the Jewel Box. You get to drink an old-fashioned and draw, how about that?

What is life drawing? It's drawing a nude or semi-nude model that poses for a certain amount of time. The time can range from quick 1-5 minute poses as well as longer ones like 10-20 minutes and beyond. It's really good practice for an artist to try to capture the form within a time limit.

The model from the session:

I also won the ticket raffle and got these really random prizes:

Um, so this was Monday night - I was spacey when I ran out to get a cab - so I forgot my prizes at the bar next door. My friend got it for me though...and someone left a little something inside the pocket book:

Another one from my recent life drawing sessions. (I won the drawing contest for it!) Yeeha! The prizes: sushi tape, an air guitar kit, and a duck soap.

The girl wore a post-apocalyptic costume with dark feathers, eye patch, and a fan made out of newspapers. Wicked.

That's all for tonight!

Check out the awesome chibi-art my friend, Tricia Kohler, did of the main Clan characters!

Left to right: Chad, Twain, Buster.

Even grumpy Chad looks adorable!
Tricia is seriously talented. Be sure to check her art out at her site!
