Necole's Art Show
I'm back from England! (More details on the trip will be posted tomorrow!) While I was there, I went to my future cousin-in-law Necole Schmitz's art show--her final piece for her graduation from the Chelsea College of Art and Design in London. Her piece is titled I'm Looking Into You Like a Forest. You can see an informative article on the piece here.
From the outside, her work looks like a huge stack of hay in the middle of the city.
When you go around, you'll see an opening.
When you walk in, you'll see tons of earthenware ornaments (handmade by Necole) hung up in the room, all representing different aspects of Necole's memories. Above, there is a skylight. Necole built the entire structure, gathering hay and wood from the English countryside.
Here's Necole!
For the performance, music played on an old record player and people started dancing with strangers until the whole room became lively.
The party went on until the wee hours of the night.
The haybail was like a portal into a surreal world full of nostalgia, the smell of hay, summer, and nature.
I hope you enjoyed the photos of her show!
